I am in love with this entire outfit; everything from her vintage Yves Saint Laurent shades down to her nude Loubs. Okay, I'm a little late to the party on this one--these pics of Kate Bosworth are from the "True Blood" premiere back on June 8. But when I found out that the gorgeous lipstick she's wearing happens to be the same Chanel formula I've been all hot and heavy with this summer--and saw how perfectly lovely her hair looks--I just couldn't resist posting about her look.
And guess what it is? My beloved Chanel Rouge Coco, in a shade called "Secret". I'd definitely need to wear some bronzer in order to pull off a nude like this--like Kate, who has on Soleil Tan de Chanel in "Terre Ambre"--but I think it could look really chic as an alternative to my everyday "Organdi Rose" shade.

When a photograph of child star Miley Cyrus - with a naked back, damp hair, and draped in a satin sheet - appeared in Vanity Fair, it caused outrage.
In today's Guardian Germaine Greer deconstructs the image in question, taken by photographer Annie Leibovitz.
As Greer describes, sexing up little girls is nothing new: "In western art most of the women portrayed semi-clad or totally nude are children ... When Lucian Freud paints girl children nobody cares ... Botticelli paints the yet-to-be-enjoyed goddess of love emerging from the sea, people come from all over the world to gape at her. The Greeks and Romans liked their goddesses meaty; our preferred Venuses are children. Hardy perennials such as Diane de Poitiers held their sway as long as they did because their bodies never matured. Kate Moss has been able to earn millions only as long as she could continue to project the body image of a 13-year-old."
So why the moral uproar over a photograph which is essentially the same thing? Even if, as Greer purports, Leibovitz's dirty postcard aesthetic depicts Cyrus as post-coital, or even worse a child prostitute and Disney her pimp, isn't this just a depressingly conventional piece of iconography?
Elsewhere, Zoe Williams dismisses the moral outcry over Cyrus's decency as a storm in a teacup. She is concerned, yet unsurprised, by the betrayal of the child star.

I friggin LOVE this. These girls (and even boys) are in opposition to the asian beauty standard: pale, simplicity and geisha style. They do the exact opposite by making their face as dark as possible, using make-up to conture the face so they get bigger eyes and more narrow noses. And all the accessories are amazing, i think. Theyre trademark is to do everything as extreme as possible, the more provocative, the better! They even have a own dance style called “Para Para”, and the music they use for it is typical eurodance/eurotrance, as you would call “smurf-music” perhaps.. Heres an example:

But THIS i love the most, even the guys do this stuff! I love Japan so much. They are so different and ORIGINAL! I admire them so much not just for daring to walk around like this, but to dare to be YOURSELF, your innerself. If somebody would walk down the streets in Norway dressed like this, people would laugh, make fun, say bad comments and think they were just going to a costume party - which is understandable, cause this is pretty sick. But i cant stop loving it anyway!

'Tis the season for change. Last week value carrier JetLite announced a change in cabin crew uniform. This week it is Gurgaon based value carrier IndiGo making the change.

However, unlike JetLite which veered towards a fusion Indian look, IndiGo has decidedly gone hot and chic with a single piece western tunic outfit complete with hats and scarves. In the airline's own words
All-in-all, the new uniform, the hats and look oozes oomph and yet is classy, elegant and uber-cool! India’s coolest airline now has India’s hottest looking crew!Indigo has partnered with fashion designer Rajesh Pratap Singh for the uniform and stylist Ambika Pillai for the make-up, hair, and "model looks" for the crew.
Somewhere between a tennis and a shirt dress, the new uniform is single-piece navy-blue tunic with a highlight of indigo on the belt. Functional and timeless elegance, the new uniform is "No nonsense" in line with the spirit of the airline. IndiGo will also be the first airline in India to feature a hat on its cabin crew.
Celebrity hair and makeup artist Ambika Pillai was brought in to give the crew a new global look. Along the lines of Singapore Airlines and its famous "Singapore Girl" Pillai came up with a standard and unique IndiGo look for all the girls with a set short hair style. The makeup is a beautiful pink and brick red color on the lips and nails makes a remarkable statement and the eyes are nude with a pull out liner, thus creating an entirely new look for the IndiGo cabin crew.
